BANGOR – Here come the brides! Hundreds of people came to the Cross Insurance Center for the fifth annual Bangor Wedding Show.
“We’re helping brides and grooms say their forever I dos and have a great wedding,” said Chris Popper, a sales representative of Town Square Media.
More than 70 vendors in attendance Saturday helped brides-to-be plan their perfect day.
It’s an opportunity to talk with professionals in the industry, enjoy discounts and get tips for their wedding.
“It’s good to just get it all and done with. I had no idea any of this is here until I came. So it’s great awareness,” said bride-to-be Autumn Young.
Popper said having this wedding show makes planning a wedding a piece of cake.
“Planning a wedding is a very difficult process. You have a lot of people to choose from and normally you have to do it in a short amount of time,” Popper said.
“To be able to have photographers, disc jockeys here, cake decorators, florists, to pick out your dress and your tuxedo. To be able to do it all in one area really gets them a leg up on the wedding process,” he said.
While planning a wedding can be a stressful process, the Bangor Wedding Show brings something for everyone. It’s in hopes to bring brides and grooms confidence before saying I do.
“Being a plus sized girl, if I go out and show them like hey I got up on the catwalk. I did my thing and I’m strutting around. You can be this gorgeous,” said Kathleen Pinkhem with Dream Dress Bridal.
“All you have to do is put your toe in the water and just go for it,” she said.
Throughout the day, Popper said he told the grooms one piece of advice.
“There are two words they have to remember. It’s not I do — it’s yes dear,” he said.
