SKOWHEGAN – A Skowhegan man is facing drug charges in connection with a bust early Wednesday morning.
According to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, deputies searched the home of 39-year-old Jason Keaten on Hilltop Drive at 7 a.m.
Authorities said Keaten was stopped in a car near his home while the search warrant was executed.
A search of Keaten’s home and vehicle turned up more than 56 grams of fentanyl — with a street value of more than $11,000 — as well as drug paraphernalia, loaded needles and more than $3,000 cash.
Keaten has been charged with aggravated trafficking and drug possession.
Sheriff Dale Lancaster said Keaten was taken to Somerset County Jail, where he is being held on bail set at $50,000 cash.
He is due to appear in court on Dec. 4.
