SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Southwest Harbor was lit up Friday night in honor of the town’s former police chief, Alan Brown, who passed away unexpectedly earlier this month.
Two hundred tiny blue lights and signs reading “Rest in Peace Chief Alan Brown” and “Thank you Chief Brown” lined Main Street on Friday.
Brown suffered a possible heart attack at a family camp last week in Ellsworth.
A memorial ceremony was held Friday night where people reflected on Brown’s life and legacy.
He was well known in the Hancock County law enforcement community, and has been referred to as a model husband, father, officer and human.
