AUGUSTA — Gov. Janet Mills’ Economic Recovery Committee reports more federal money is needed to get Maine through the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a statement from the governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future, the committee’s report stressed: “without new stimulus to Maine families many businesses and individuals will suffer irreparable damage from the pandemic.”
The statement said the pandemic has caused indiscriminate damage across the state.
The report said the state will need to make a long-term commitment to changing systemic structural inequities.
It said that is key to having a positive long-term economic impact on the state’s economy.
