BANGOR – The United Way of Eastern Maine held its campaign kickoff this afternoon, complete with a family B-B-Q.
The non-profit began its fundraising campaign for the 2019 season with a lofty goal.
Due to inclement weather, the kickoff was held inside at Hollywood Casino’s Epic Buffet.
United Way of Eastern Maine’s President and C-E-O says they expected a great turnout as their volunteers prepare to raise the money needed to help the communities they serve thrive
“We are planning to raise 1.55 million dollars for the community” says United Way of Eastern Maine’s Shirar Patterson “it’s going to help meet the basic needs with early childhood development and help to prevent substance use disorders”
