HERMON – Camp Capella hosted its 9th annual touch-a-truck fundraiser at Speedway 95 Saturday afternoon.
Some of the highlights were a forest service helicopter and superheros.
The facilities director of Camp Capella, Harvey Chesley, said they hoped to see at least a thousand people by the end of the day and were on track to do so.
He estimates this event will raise about $10,000. The camp gives kids and adults with special needs a chance to experience camp.
“It’s a great opportunity for kids to experience a traditional summer camp experience from boating to fishing to outdoor games to nature. Whatever they want to do, we try to make it possible. We don’t focus on what our campers can’t do. We focus on what they can and what they want to do at camp,” said Chesley.
