DEXTER — According to a Facebook post by the Dexter Police Department, officers arrested a female during a routine traffic stop on Tuesday night.
Officers found a large amount of uncapped needles, pills, marijuana, crushed pills and other paraphernalia in the car the woman and her four-year-old daughter were traveling in.
A bag of candy, also containing marijuana, was found within the child’s reach.
The post said the Department of Health and Human Services took temporary custody of the child, who was placed with a family member.
Among other charges, the woman was arrested for endangering the welfare of her child.
A dispatcher at Dexter Police Department said the Dexter County Sheriff’s Office will be releasing more information on Monday.
