TROY – Investigators with the state fire marshal’s office are working to determine what caused a fire in Troy late Friday evening.
According to Troy’s fire chief, the blaze at a home on Alley Lane, just off Route 202, was called in around 11:30 Friday night.
“We had a passerby call this in, this building was fully involved,” said Chief Daniel Nealley of the Troy Fire Department. “We’ve been here multiple times.”
According to Nealley, multiple fires have been reported at the address in the past, including one that destroyed a stick-built home on the property, and another at the same structure affected Friday, which was quickly put out and resulted in little damage.
This time, the structure was destroyed.
The fire chief tells us the woman who lives at the residence was working in Bangor at the time the fire was called in.
No injuries were reported.
Crews from surrounding towns, including Burnham, Unity, Thorndike and Dixmont, helped the Troy Fire Department fight the fire.
Authorities were on scene into the early hours Saturday morning putting out hot spots.
