VEAZIE – Veazie Community School is looking for help to start a modern band program.
The school’s music teacher said students can take a class of their choice every Friday that is outside the typical curriculum.
One of these classes is a modern band.
Michael Arell said the school expects more students than it has instruments for so music supporters are looking for donations.
“If there are people that maybe have played this style of music before, if they were in a rock band, they played country music and they are no longer playing and want to keep that passion going, they want to pass that on, then this would be a great way to share it with a younger student that could use it maybe for the rest of their life,” Arell said.
Arell said the instrument donations can be dropped off at the school.
Anyone who does not have an instrument to give but still wants to help can sponsor a child by donating money.
