HAMPDEN – Tropical storm watches and warnings are in effect across most parts of Maine, as Tropical Storm Isaias heads this way.
Versant Power is preparing for the possibility of widespread outages.
There are line crews ready to respond throughout Northern and Eastern Maine, according to a spokesperson for Versant.
“Be very watchful when the weather brings these kind of winds. You need to make sure that you’re watchful for downed power lines and you call public authorities and get in touch with us here at Versant Power and let us know so that we can make it safe,” said Judy Long, Versant Power Spokesperson.
Versant Power serves about 159,000 people in Maine.
Long advises people to be prepared and have battery-operated flashlights, fully charged cell phones, plenty of water and non-perishable food items.
The storm is expected to hit the region Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
