BANGOR- If you’ve been pushing off visiting your doctor because of safety concerns, don’t.
The director of the Family Medicine and Residency Program at Northern Light, Sarah Irving, says visits have been down because of the pandemic.
Doctor’s offices have safety measures in place, including limiting the number of people in the waiting room and making sure wait times are reduced.
“We need to ensure that we’re safe and protecting our community from this virus,” said Irving. “We are so fortunate to live in Maine and that we have not been impacted in the way the rest of the country has. At the same time, neglecting our healthcare otherwise will be detrimental.”
It is important to continue things like wearing masks and proper handwashing.
