ENFIELD – Warden service divers spent a portion of the day Thursday searching an area of the Penobscot River near King’s Bridge for a missing man in the Enfield area.
Mark Latti from the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife said the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation into the disappearance of Joseph Gilley, 30, of West Enfield.
Authorities say he went missing last Wednesday, and was reported missing by his mother on Saturday.
Latti said the dive team had been working with the sheriff’s office after receiving information that Gilley may have been in that area, but Latti told us the search stopped early Thursday evening and there were no specific plans to return for another search.
He told us the team is standing by to help the sheriff’s office in the event any more evidence or information is found.
