PALMYRA – The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office said excessive speed may be to blame for an accident that left a woman severely injured this weekend.
According to Somerset County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Mike Mitchell, it happened on Route 152 in Palmyra on Saturday around 6:00 p.m.
Mitchell said Katia Graves, 31, of Madison lost control of her vehicle, rolled it several times and ran into a vehicle parked in a driveway before hitting a utility pole.
Graves was ejected from the vehicle, and according to Mitchell, was eventually flown by Life Flight helicopter to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center with a severe leg injury.
Police say Graves was not wearing a seat belt.
The crash remains under investigation.
